Perform assessments, technical assistance, overhaul, and maintenance of Navy Underway Replenishment (UNREP) systems at UNREP Test site located at NSWCPHD or at platform locations.    Conduct equipment overhaul at NSWCPHD Test Site.  Developing or reviewing designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data, applying conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists. (Examples of designs include: detailed circuit diagrams; hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems; and building site layouts).   Conducting tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures, preparing and operating equipment, recording data, measuring and recording problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level, and analyzes data and prepares test reports.   Applying methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducts tests or experiments and redesigns as necessary and recording and evaluating data and reports findings. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.   Contribute to the development of engineering and logistics documentation, and support logistics functions.   Conduct painting as required.

This position is responsible for assisting and advising the SURFMEPP IT Division Head in the overall IT governance and requirements development for SURFMEPP.  The SURFMEPP IT Division Head will establish work priorities and assign projects that are in alignment with Division/Command business plans and priorities.    The incumbent serves as M&SWP (Surface Maintenance & Ship Work Planning Reports) System Support Specialist for one or more projects within the division to support maintenance engineering and planning, for various classes of Surface Ships on a variety of computing platforms.    Responsibilities include: - Evaluate customer business functions and translates requirements into proposals for new or improved information solutions by identifying and proposing alternatives based on cost and benefit analysis. - Forecast and analyze future impacts on the existing information management systems and recommends ways to incorporate future requirements. - Work closely with SURFMEPP customer to thoroughly define the M&SWP system by use cases, flow charts, window specifications, object models, and judicious use and demonstration of prototypes. - Develop and maintain functional requirements, use cases, relationship diagrams, system/subsystem specifications, test plans, implementation plans, changes management plans, and user manuals as required, in support of developing a final information technology solution. - Confer with computer specialists, engineers and technicians, both internal and external to SURFMEPP, to discuss technical aspects of the work and to resolve technical problems. - Assist with the Command Records Management Program by using electronic databases and other electronic means to perform administrative support tasks, including organizing, indexing, and summarizing documents, files, and other materials. - Provides technical assistance using automated records management systems to ensure that customer electronic records are maintained, distributed, stored, and/or destroyed in compliance with regulatory requirements. - Support initial verification and validation testing on newly developed tools within multiple applications.  Test final changes to ensure that all SURFMEPP requirements are correctly implemented. - Manage the data transfer and interfaces between maintenance management systems and applications. - Monitor all business rules, process changes, developments, and trends, to better anticipate future requirements. - Ability to analyze business processes in order to provide recommendations to improve work-flow and create efficiencies through the use of automated tools, systems, and/or technology. - Maintain all Cyber Security Workforce Continuous Educational requirements as directed.
