Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning by providing engineering, technical, and administrative analysis.

 

Conduct recommendation services to support current material readiness and reporting, and maintenance availability advanced planning, development, and execution for aircraft carrier CNO scheduled availabilities and maintenance upkeeps.

 

 

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

 
  • Minimum of 13 years CVN maintenance and repair experience. Specifically, active duty Navy assignments including: CVN Engineering or Reactor Departments and Naval Shipyard experience.
  • Minimum of nine years of experience of direct support of CNAP MPMs during CVN CNO Availabilities in the Pacific Northwest region interfacing with PSNS&IMF; NNSY; Multi-Ship-Multi-Option (MSMO) Master Ship Repair Organizations; IDIQ Preservation Contractor; NSWC Philadelphia Contracted Habitability Contractor; Alteration Installation Teams (AITs); NAVSEA; Ships Force; and Senior Navy Leadership.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interface with senior Navy personnel (06/GS-15) on a routine basis.
  • Minimum of five years experience participating as member of the Project Team for Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) and Docking Planned Incremental Availability (DPIA) production meetings and policy forums.
  • Experience as a member of the TYCOM Staff.
  • Experience in the Navy’s Departure from Specification (DFS) program.
  • Experience with providing daily progress reports.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Accredited college engineering or science degree.
  • Comprehensive understanding and the ability to articulate the Navy’s Budgetary Process, to include Naval Shipyard Mission and Cost Reimbursable Funding streams, MSMO Contracting process, and other financial issues.
  • Be able to function as the acting TYCOM Maintenance Planning Manager (MPM) (except for the obligation of Federal Funds), in the event that the incumbent TYCOM MPM is unable to perform his duties.
  • Military training or education is required.

 

One must have exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. Travel is required.  A Security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship required.
