Responsibilities

We provide Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, VA. For sixty years, DARPA has held to a singular and enduring mission: to make pivotal investments in breakthrough technologies for national security.

 

Gryphon Technologies has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Biologist/Biomedical Engineer position supporting DARPA’s Biological Technologies Office (BTO) located in Arlington, Virginia.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting a DARPA Program Manager within the Biological Technologies Office in efforts related to:
    1. Medical countermeasure development targeting infectious and non-infectious diseases/events
    2. Artificial intelligence research development
    3. Statistics/data science and
    4. Biosurveillance/disease detection and diagnostics
  • Providing direct support to a U.S. Defense Department Program Manager and/or program
  • Assisting in the development of new programs, review of technical research proposals, the source selection process, and in assessing performer progress towards program goals
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time
  • Work will be performed on-site

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Eligible for a Secret security clearance
  • Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, biochemistry/chemistry, cell biology, biomedical engineering, or a relevant field
  • Excellent organization and communication skills are required, and candidates must be able to handle a wide variety of tasks, including briefing support and general administration
  • Self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven technical writing skills with the ability to communicate complex scientific ideas to broad audiences

 

One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
