    Responsibilities

     

    The Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) maintains, monitors, and refines Class-wide and Individual-Ship Maintenance Plans for all non-nuclear surface ships to ensure material readiness for the projected service life, develops life-cycle strategies to address system upgrades, and fully implements the Class Maintenance Plan into each surface ship's maintenance schedule and availability planning process.

    The Corrosion Analyst directly supports Corrosion Division Head in the strategic communications and interrelations between SURFMEPP and various senior Fleet Stakeholders on the ship or class specific corrosion conditions and their impact on expected service life. The Corrosion Analyst develops, schedules and coordinates the communication platforms utilized by the Corrosion PM such as face to face briefings, Situational Reports (SITREPS) and Corrosion related articles in Navy related periodicals. Additionally, the Corrosion Analyst will track recurring corrosion deliverables both internal and external to the command to ensure timely submission of Corrosion requirements.

     

    Qualifications

    A highly qualified candidate will:

    • Possess excellent communication skills; to include proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Detailed understanding of Navy protocol and procedures as it relates to interacting with Senior Civilian or Naval Officers.
    • Experience in developing detailed briefings, strategy papers or articles related to maintenance or modernization of US Navy ships.
    • Understanding of Navy Correspondence Manual and other governing documents related to Navy Correspondence
    • Understanding of Navy terminology and maintenance fundamentals related to the husbanding of ships throughout a maintenance cycle.

    Desired Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related professional field
    • Prior Commissioned Officer with experience serving on Surface Navy ships
    • Active Secret Security Clearance

    Required Experience

    • Five (5) years of related professional experience in DoD/Navy acquisition process, in DoD/Navy Program management, industry or Government technical management, or industry or Government business management
    • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Superb customer relations/interaction skills.

     

    One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Security Clearance will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
