    • Follow Material Inventory Procedures.
    • Coordinate all activities related to procurement starting with intent to purchase through delivery.
    • Analyze the requirements including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed.
    • Solidity and evaluate proposal for the requested commodity.
    • Interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
    • Collect three quotes on all material, with the help of the Purchasing Supervisor, a decision is made on where to purchase the material.
    • Must keep track of the material received and due dates for the material not received.
    • Must write a Sole Source Document or a Material Purchase Analysis for material costing over $2500.
    • Ensure perfect records of all materials with the supply chain.
    • Maintain precise material safety data records on all hazardous materials stored and/or utilized by shop and field employees.
    • Provide quality customer service and assist warehouse personnel with general tasks.
    • Must negotiate final cost, delivery and mode of shipment for material.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    • 3 (+) years of consistent experience in purchasing materials for military use preferably for ships and/or small boats.
    • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Project, Excel, etc.) and Deltek CostPoint. 
    • Understand MILSPECS and be able to read and understand drawings.
    • Be able to multi-task in high stress situations.
    • Extensive attention to detail, ability to multi-task and the drive to take ownership in ones work.
