    • Provide waterfront technical support and field engineering/troubleshooting for small boats for Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC).
    • Apply knowledge of watercraft electrical and electronic systems on various Navy small boats, including industry standards, preventive maintenance and repair procedures and technical upgrades.
    • Provide technical expertise to ensure documentation and compliance with contract and military specification for watercraft upgrades, which could include engines, power equipment, auxiliary equipment, and C4I systems.
    • Performs troubleshooting on a diverse spectrum of electrical DC (and some AC) systems,
    • Self-starter and able to work with little or no supervision


    • Work independently providing waterfront technical support for troubleshooting small boat systems.
    • Familiar with engineering and fleet operating principles related to marine systems
    • Knowledgeable of electrical equipment and systems including industry standards for installation and removal.
    • Conduct systems familiarization for small boat operators on marine systems and associated platforms.
    • Provide technical assistance for electrical issues for preventive and corrective maintenance on main engines and auxiliary equipment installed.
    • Ensure all preventive and corrective maintenance procedures are conducted in accordance with applicable instructions and safety guidelines.
    • Inspect craft, develop repair packages, develop cost estimates, oversee other’s execution of assigned repair packages and conduct acceptance testing.
    • Conduct inspection cycles prior to each detachment's deployment, ensuring that all assigned gear is in proper operating condition.
    • Provide technical support for the development of Liaison Action Records and Boat Alteration Records.
    • Perform work with a minimum of supervisory assistance and in compliance with prior engineering determination.
    • Incorporate daily task direction directly from client and be able to work without supervision.
    • Available for CONUS and OCONUS travel


    A minimum of five years related experience is required.


    • Small Boat operational and maintenance experience
    • Hands-on Hull, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics technical experience
    • Familiarity with the installation of electrical and mechanical components including but not limited to boat alterations for security systems, instrumentation, cabling, gauges and sensors, radars, external speakers, depth sounders, sonar, cabin and deck lighting, engines, pumps and shore power
    • Skilled in troubleshooting and promptly taking corrective action in accordance with technical documentation
    • Reading and interpreting blueprints/bills of materials.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Access, Project, Excel, etc.).
    • Drawing simple schematics/wiring diagrams; CAD skills / experience preferred.
    • Connector certifications required for MIL-STD and Fiber Optic qualifications a plus.
    • Strong communication, written and documentation skills.

    One must have good written communiation, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.




    Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access



    • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
    • WALKING AND CLIMBING. Ability to climb up to four (4) flights of stairs and climb ladders.
    • Employee may be required to access remote areas of multi-level vessels

    Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
