    Responsibilities

    Gryphon is looking for candidates to fill a system engineer positions to support our U.S. Navy Ship Self Defense Program Office (PEO IWS 10.0) customer. We are looking for motivated engineers to provide technical and program office support for the development, fielding and support of current and future Navy Combat Systems.  Candidates will coordinate with Navy program office to provide direct system engineering support including:

    • Performing system engineering in design, development and integration of SSDS with other engineering systems, including Navy sensor systems, navigation systems, weapons systems, communications systems and command and control systems.
    • Evaluating system of system capabilities, architectures, system design concepts, requirements, risks and opportunities, and performing analysis of documented user requirements.
    • Performing integrated combat system design investigations, problem report analysis and resolution, and recommending improvements in design and/or implementation to enhance system performance.
    • Supporting the SSDS Program Office in all aspects of systems engineering and assisting with oversight of OEM development and production activities.
    • Ensuring System Engineering processes are followed during all phases of the system software and hardware lifecycle. Provide guidance and assistance as needed in the areas of Configuration Management and Risk Management.
    • Executing risk management programs; identify and propose risks, categorize risks according to the standard risk cube, develop risk slides for executive briefings, and maintain the risk registry databases.
    • Conducting technology search, analysis, road-mapping and management support, planning and execution of program technology transitions. Experience interacting with Navy and DoD S&T organizations (e.g. ONR, NRL, Darpa).
    • Developing, maintaining, and conducting analyses on Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Integrated Master Plans (IMP) for DoD ACAT programs; integrating program activities, associated interdependencies, durations, and resource requirements to construct and maintain program level IMS; providing subject matter expertise and reporting in scheduling, critical path analysis, and program coordination; supporting and mentoring government associates in the development and maintenance of program IMP and IMS and developing briefings on specific IMS/IMP processes.

     

    Qualifications

    A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. A minimum of five to seven years related experience is required.

     

    One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required. U.S. Citizenship required
