    Provide comments and recommended changes in areas relating to HVAC, Refrigeration, and Cooling Water Systems (Chilled Water, Air Conditioning Seawater Cooling, and Electronics System Cooling) for CVN 78 Class.  Verify compliance with approved system descriptions, the ship specification, and system performance requirements.  Assist in the development and review of engineering design disclosure products.  Efforts include researching, writing/preparing of correspondence and compilation of appropriate supporting documentation, CDP and acquisition cost reduction.  Provide design and engineering support for engineered system components including Air Conditioning Plants, Modular Refrigeration Units, Modular Air Coolers, and Chilled Water Pump and Motor, Chilled Water Flow Meters, Chilled Water Expansion Joints, V-Cone Flow Meters, 10-Inch 3-Way Valves, Ventilation Pre-Heaters, Composite Moisture Separators, AFFF Concentrate Pump and Motor, Chilled Water Pump and Motor, Potable Water Pump and Motor, Emergency Diesel Generator Seawater Cooling Pump and Motor, and Vertical Titanium Fire Pump and Motor. 


    Participate in product reviews requiring operational experience and technical expertise.  Review feasibility studies, performance specifications, and procurement specifications, and detail design reports, studies, and drawings.  Participate in vendor design reviews and critical development tests.  Provide briefings, papers, and answers to questions from SEA 05V management, and provide technical advice and recommendations.  Provide CVN 79/80 Carrier Engineering Team (CET) with support as required.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
    • Minimum five years’ experience in auxiliary ship systems engineering
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

    One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Proven leadership skills are a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Secret Security Clearance will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
