Responsibilities

Full-time support developing Hull/Outfitting Drawings for CVN/LHD class ships.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • To develop engineering drawings independently using 2D AutoCad
  • To ensure modifications/modernization to all furnishing, equipment & systems on all ships are within the guidelines of the respective task at the time of drawing development and the GSO
  • Providing job planning services to prepare work job summaries which define authorized work boundaries, work scope, technical and quality assurance requirements, material cost and ordering specifications
  • Provide the weight and Moment data related to the modification of the developed drawing
  • To develop drawings that accurately defines the arrangement, clearance and location requirements of equipment
  • To interface between all technical disciplines to ensure complete integration of various systems

Qualifications

A minimum of fifteen years of experience, and an Associates degree is required.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position such as:

  • Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge of aspects unique to nuclear powered aircraft carriers, including working of special interface and control requirements associated with the accomplishments of total ship/system engineering and design work
  • Have a clear understanding of ordering material from the Navy Stock System using mil-spec ordering data
  • Have experience using commercial specifications (ANSI, ASTM, AISI) and Military Specifications
  • Have knowledge of related components and associated equipment (i.e. Joiner doors, insulation, chairs, kevlok shelves , label plates, joiner bulkheads and deck coverings.
  • Read and interpret Ships Installation Drawings (SID)
  • Evaluation and applying knowledge and techniques in problem solving issued related to the position

One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Secret Security Clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship required.
