Responsibilities

The Junior Test Engineer and Combat System/Weapon System Subject Matter Expert (SME) roles and responsibilities include:

 

  • Perform analysis of documented Fleet combat system/weapon system mission capability requirements, and evaluate and derive requirements for testability.
  • Support development of combat system and weapon system T&E plans to verify and validate warfare system performance and operational war-fighting capability.
  • Support post-test analysis and reporting of combat system and weapon system test events. Evaluate test event discrepancy reports and verify/validate incorporated fixes affecting systems and system of system capabilities. 
  • Participate in review of warfare systems and elements under development to ensure traceability of requirements compliance through verification and validation.

Qualifications

Military training and/or education is required. A minimum of three years combat system/weapon system experience on USN surface combatants is required. Combat system experience can be either AEGIS or SSDS. Weapon system experience should be in ship self-defense weapons.

 

 

A Bachelor's degree would be a qualification bonus.

 

One must have good computer skills, written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
